Our inviting yam is Sympli crispy-crunchy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside.
HOW TO COOK (Straight Cut Fries)
For best results cook from frozen. Deep fry at 180 °C (356 °F) for 3.5 mins, or oil brush and Bake at 225 °C (437 °F) for 8 minutes, or Oil brush and Air fry at 200 °C (392 °F) for 13 minutes. After frying, place in paper towel-lined bowl to remove excess oil, then serve.
Take care not to leave oil pan on fire unsupervised, do not overfill pan, remove excess ice from product before cooking, and do not eat uncooked product.
Over the last decade, through research, innovation, and the finest agricultural practices, Sympli has invested in finding the best variety of yam from the hundreds that exist in Nigeria. In fertile soil, our farmers grow, and harvest at the peak of nutrition when they are just perfect for frying. With loving hands in our kitchens, we transform them into the yam chips and fries you know and have grown to love.
At Sympli, we remove the stress of finding the right tuber from the many species in the market. With Sympli yam, say hello to consistently delicious taste and goodbye to itchy hands*, colour change*, spoilage, and bitterness. The result is what we call ‘Delicious Like Home’ — a standard you can be proud to serve your loved ones. It delivers deliciousness, a crispy-crunchy texture and, best of all, is available all year round.
From crispy fried chips to loaded fries, and more, Sympli Yam is made by us, cooked by your loving hands, celebrated and, we dare say, fought over at your dining table. It’s perfect for breakfast, lunch and dinner, whether it’s family time, cooking for one, or entertaining a crowd.
*itchy hands when peeling fresh yams is a temporary allergic reaction known as contact dermatitis. This is due to saponins (plant alkaloids) in the mucus and calcium oxalate crystals, under the yam peel.
*Some yam species oxidise when sliced, turning various colours from rust orange to greyish-brown, and blackening when cooked. Sympli yam, if kept at -18 Celsius or colder constantly, is less prone to oxidisation. If the cold chain is broken, some pieces may still discolour.
